A Country Affair

Over St.Jean Baptiste weekend here in Quebec, my good friend Gwylan tied the knot to her high school sweetheart Michael. Gwylan is a photographer and owner of Gwylan Goddard Photography here in Montreal, so it is not surprising that she had a vision when it came to her big day. The very talented and amazing Chelsea Gray (photographer and owner of blushing bride studio in Montreal ) captured the day in all of its glory. You can see her amazing work by following the link below:

All the hand made details is what made this event truly spectacular. From the ceremony backdrop to the the wedding tent, Gwylan,Mike, family and friends spent a little over a year preparing for the big day. You can read all about the event in the making on Gwylan’s blog:

Now the flowers….the glorious glorious flowers…Eco friendly, nature inspired and to be kept within the colour palette of peach, white, pink, green and the rest was up to me. I had fun working on Gwylan’s wedding. I was trudging through forests in Ontario finding flowers and greens, trimming my own personal garden all to keep it as homegrown as possible. The guest tables were lined with bud vases surrounded by a garland of eucalyptus and lisianthus around each one, boutonnieres filled with detail, and of course, if i do say so myself an absolutely jaw dropping bridal bouquet. It came together perfectly even better than I had imagined it, which is exactly what I wanted for such a good friend.

The following photos were taken by Chelsea Gray of Blushing Bride Studio. Thank you Chelsea for capturing the incredible beauty of the flowers.

Amanda and Nick

Amanda and Nick said “I do” over one of the hottest weekends here in Montreal. With temperatures reading at 30 degrees Celsius but feeling more like 40, it was a challenge for the flowers to say the least, since they tend to like it a bit on the cooler side. Amanda decided on a white and soft pink color palette for her big day, a truly classic choice. Here is a selection from her big day.
