Zofia & Marc

If you are looking for some jaw dropping wedding inspiration look no further. Zofia and Marc planned this day down to every detail, from ties to shoes, with no detail being overlooked to bring this magical day together. Our first meeting, like with many other couples, began with an inspiration collage of their wedding Pinterest board. Designers have conflicting views over Pinterest boards and whether they help or hinder in the wedding planning process. For me, I think that so long as the couple is open to variations on the design, as well as being realistic with regards to their budget, then the images that the couple assemble can really help you to get an idea of the style and feel the couple is trying to achieve.

The event took place at L’Orpailleur Vineyard  in the Eastern Townships. The flowers were going to be used as the couples primary décor. They wanted to stay true to the natural setting of the venue all while capturing the hearts of their family and friends to create a romantic setting. The color palette that they were inspired by were blushes, pinks, burgundy’s and whites. Textures were also a key part of this design, using complimentary greens and large protea’s  as a primary focal point added that wow component.

The pièce de résistance for the event (aside from Zofia of course) by far was the ceremonial arch, although the cedar hedge was no small feat either. This piece was truly a labor of love. The base of the arch was made up of curly willow that I weaved together by hand, while creating key junction points to place the main focal floral pieces. The structure was further enforced with seeded eucalyptus and magnolia and from there inspiration just took off, and this 4 ft long ceremonial masterpiece was created. This piece served multi functions for the bride and groom, in that after the ceremony it was used as the floral runner of their sweet heart table.

Beautiful Day, Beautiful Couple… Congratulations you Guys!!!

Tracy and Conor

Tracy and Conor married over Labour Day here in Montreal and the Vielle Brasserie. Tracy and Conor knew what they wanted from the very beginning when we met back in December. Soft tones of greys, greens, whites, soft touches of lavender all with a very natural feel. The couple now reside in Kuujjuaq, and wanted the flora to represent a taste of home. They are an amazing couple, they were a joy to work with, and the fact that they have the most adorable son, which I managed to steal a few hugs from, certainly did not hurt 🙂

Anis et Marjolaine

Rouge&co6

My good friend Ashley (who just so happens to be the genius behind my logo design) was throwing a surprise birthday bash for her moms 60th birthday. It was to be held at Anis et Marjolaine in St-Lazare, a small quaint restaurant run by head chef and owner Alvaro. The centrepieces were to be kept simple, natural, and in tones of white and green with a few splashes of lavender. We were on a bit of a tighter budget for this one, so we picked up bunches of fresh parsley from the market, and ran with the theme of alstro, white tulips, sprigs of lavender, birch branches and soft asparagus fern.

If you have never been to the fabulously delicious Anis et Marjolaine in St-Lazare I definitely recommend checking it out. They have a fabulous terrace, and a delicious brunch on the weekend perfect for summer weekends.

Hello 2014

Happy New year! I hope that everyone enjoyed all of their festivities. I had a wonderful holiday season. I was even able to take some time off to celebrate my sons first christmas abroad with my family. I knew that I was still going to be doing a little work on vacation though, no rest for the wicked as they say. My father had made a request for centerpieces for a late holiday party that he was having. So here is the last of the holiday photos that I will be posting, and look forward to heading into spring.

One last little thing….

2013 was a great year for me, and for that I am extremely grateful. Thank you to all my clients who trusted me to take part in their special days, their highs, lows and all the holidays in between. Without you none of this would be possible so thank you, thank you, thank you……

The fall…

A friend within our tight knit group recently lost her father after a long battle with cancer. We wanted to offer her and her mother an arrangement just let them know that we were thinking of them. I often say that there are no rules when it comes to sympathy arrangements. I opted for rich fall tones, with a modern yet organic twist. I felt it was a nice representation for the season that she lost her father, as well as her own personal style. My hope is that when she is getting ready in the morning and she glances over at the arrangement, that she may crack a small smile, think of her dad, and that just maybe the healing process was helped a little bit.

A Country Affair

Over St.Jean Baptiste weekend here in Quebec, my good friend Gwylan tied the knot to her high school sweetheart Michael. Gwylan is a photographer and owner of Gwylan Goddard Photography here in Montreal, so it is not surprising that she had a vision when it came to her big day. The very talented and amazing Chelsea Gray (photographer and owner of blushing bride studio in Montreal ) captured the day in all of its glory. You can see her amazing work by following the link below:

All the hand made details is what made this event truly spectacular. From the ceremony backdrop to the the wedding tent, Gwylan,Mike, family and friends spent a little over a year preparing for the big day. You can read all about the event in the making on Gwylan’s blog:

Now the flowers….the glorious glorious flowers…Eco friendly, nature inspired and to be kept within the colour palette of peach, white, pink, green and the rest was up to me. I had fun working on Gwylan’s wedding. I was trudging through forests in Ontario finding flowers and greens, trimming my own personal garden all to keep it as homegrown as possible. The guest tables were lined with bud vases surrounded by a garland of eucalyptus and lisianthus around each one, boutonnieres filled with detail, and of course, if i do say so myself an absolutely jaw dropping bridal bouquet. It came together perfectly even better than I had imagined it, which is exactly what I wanted for such a good friend.

The following photos were taken by Chelsea Gray of Blushing Bride Studio. Thank you Chelsea for capturing the incredible beauty of the flowers.

Amanda and Nick

Amanda and Nick said “I do” over one of the hottest weekends here in Montreal. With temperatures reading at 30 degrees Celsius but feeling more like 40, it was a challenge for the flowers to say the least, since they tend to like it a bit on the cooler side. Amanda decided on a white and soft pink color palette for her big day, a truly classic choice. Here is a selection from her big day.

Cynthia and Kosta

Cynthia and Kosta were a wonderful couple to work with. They were married on a beautiful day in May, and held their reception at the Vieux Port Steakhouse in Old Montreal. With Large Windows framed in black, and exposed brick walls, the Bride and Groom wanted a rustic yet classical look. Keeping the colours in a pure white with accents of greens, and using mason jars instead of a classic glass vase, the flowers warmed up the room instantly when placed on the tables.

I have also included a few photos of Kosta’s special request for his Bride to be. Kosta phoned me and asked if i could create an arrangement for the Bridal Suite so that Cynthia would have  something wonderful in her room while getting ready. Colourful is all he requested, and here is what i came up with…
